미션

광복회 LA지회는 순국선열과 독립유공자의 숭고한 희생과 헌신을 기리고, 그 정신을 미래세대에 계승하기 위해 설립된 독립운동가 후손들의 단체입니다.

우리는 독립운동의 역사와 가치를 올바르게 보존하고 널리 알리며, 자유·민주주의·인권·평화라는 보편적 가치를 다음 세대와 지역사회에 전하는 것을 사명으로 합니다.

교육, 기념사업, 학술연구, 기록보존, 문화교류 및 차세대 리더십 프로그램을 통해 독립운동의 유산을 현재와 미래를 잇는 살아있는 역사로 계승하며, 대한민국과 미국을 잇는 가교로서 한인사회의 역사적 정체성과 공동체 의식을 더욱 굳건히 세워 나가겠습니다.

우리는 다음과 같은 비전을 실현하고자 합니다.

  • 독립유공자와 그 후손의 역사와 삶을 발굴·기록·보존하는 대표적인 역사 아카이브 구축

  • 청소년과 차세대를 위한 역사교육과 모국연수 프로그램을 통해 미래세대 리더 양성

  • 학술세미나, 기념행사, 출판사업 및 디지털 콘텐츠를 통한 독립운동 역사 확산

  • 한국과 미국의 교육기관, 문화기관 및 지역사회와 협력하여 독립운동의 세계사적 의미를 알리는 국제적 네트워크 구축

Mission

Heritage of Korean Independence, Los Angeles Branch is an organization of descendants of Korean independence patriots dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of those who devoted their lives to Korea's independence and ensuring that their legacy continues to inspire future generations.

Our mission is to preserve and promote the history and ideals of Korea's Independence Movement while advancing the universal values of freedom, democracy, human dignity, justice, and peace.

Through education, commemoration, scholarly programs, historical preservation, cultural engagement, and youth leadership initiatives, we strive to connect the legacy of the Independence Movement with the present and the future, serving as a bridge between Korea and the Korean American community.
